I’ve worn glasses since I was 3 or 4, and I got contacts when I was 9. My vision was horrible, but contacts worked well for me. I started getting lazy when it came to my contact care, and all I wanted was to be able to see my surroundings when I woke up and when I went to bed. I had been going to the GBEC since I was young, and I had heard good things about their LASIK procedures. Dr. Meyer was recommended to me because of my extreme nearsightedness and his experience with extremely poor vision patients such as myself. It was a bit uncomfortable at times, but it was well worth the outcome. Given the chance to go back and do it again, I would in a heartbeat. Speaking as someone who has been wearing glasses and contacts practically my entire life, I would definitely recommend LASIK to others.

I’d worn glasses and contacts for over 25 years. I researched the Green Bay Eye Clinic and other providers and spoke with friends who’ve had vision correction surgery. I finally decided to take the plunge and called for a consultation. It moved slowly from there, as my eyes were not ready for surgery after my initial exam. I was disappointed but understood it was best to wait, and to address my challenges before scheduling my procedure. Dr. Meyer was very patient and explained the “whys” behind his recommendation. About two months later my waiting period was over and I had my procedure. It’s been life altering for me, and I’m glad I took the leap of faith and followed through.

Before I came to Green Bay Eye Clinic, I wore glasses for everything. Now I can see 20/15 without the glasses. No more hassle with my glasses in the rain, or that constant heavy weight on my face. I do need my glasses for close-up work, but that is minor. I had a great experience, and I would recommend it to anyone considering the surgery. I would do it again, no questions asked. I was amazed at how fast after the surgery my vision improved.

Before I had Custom LASIK eye correction, I couldn’t even read my alarm clock without glasses. My glasses were always in the way. It was hard to enjoy things like swimming, water skiing, and just playing with my kids. Contacts made my eyes dry and uncomfortable, which made me feel tired. I chose Green Bay Eye Clinic because my sister had injured her eye and she worked with Green Bay Eye Clinic, and she recommended them. Also the location was convenient. Dr. Bordewick was GREAT. She is so knowledgeable and friendly. She answered all of my questions and put my mind at ease. After my surgery, I could do all my normal daily activities without glasses by the next day. My vision continued to get clearer every day. Now my vision is better than 20/20 and it is wonderful. I would definitely recommend Green Bay Eye Clinic and Dr. Bordewick to all my friends and family. In fact, I find myself bragging about how good my vision is all the time. The only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner.

The number one reason that I chose LASIK was simply because I could not wear contact lenses anymore. As the days went on I found that I was wearing my contacts less and less simply because of the dryness in my eyes. After trying every brand of the latest and greatest “wet” contact lenses with no success, I realized I needed to make a change, and that is when I turned to the Green Bay Eye Clinic. In my consultation they mentioned that dryness was one of the side effects that people complained about. I can honestly tell you that after the initial healing period was over I haven’t put rewetting drops in my eyes since. Thank you Green Bay Eye Clinic! Now that my tested vision is 20/15 in both eyes, I can tell you that my only regret is the fact that I didn’t get the surgery earlier.

I was told years ago that I wasn’t a candidate for LASIK because my vision was too bad and my corneas too thin, so I needed to wait for an alternative technology. Needless to say I was crushed at that time. I had been looking forward to getting rid of my thick coke-bottle glasses. I was thrilled to get a call from Green Bay Eye Clinic to say that the technology was now available: The Visian ICL. Though I was nervous about the procedure, it was much easier than I had anticipated. The healing was quick with very little discomfort. The neat thing is that I see better than I did with my contacts. I am 20/15 in both eyes! This is the best thing I have ever done for myself!

Nearvision CK Patient
I was frustrated with my change in near vision. Small print was becoming impossible to read. I heard the procedure was very easy and carried little risk. I called Green Bay Eye Clinic because of its reputation. I wanted to go to the best facility around. I met with their staff, found out that I qualified, and scheduled the procedure (Nearvision CK). The procedure only took a few minutes and was painless. We left and went out to lunch. My close vision improvement was apparent the very next day and continued to improve for the next week or so. I can now read comfortably no matter what the print size. It was great! I recommend this procedure to anyone who struggles with near vision problems. I know you will think it’s great too!

ICL Patient
I am 45 years old and have had glasses since the age of 4. From second grade through sixth grade all my school books were special ordered. I was in sports all through school with my “coke bottle” glasses. Because of my thick glasses, any time I would get hit in the face, I would end up with stitches. (I have well over 50 stitches on my face from glasses.)...I have tried contacts at least 10 different times. They never worked for me. For 41 years, I never saw my alarm clock until I would put my glasses on. My glasses were never more than an arm’s length away from me…I have run 13 marathons and I off road race professionally.
When Dr. Meyer told me the procedure had finally been OK’d in the U.S, I…was pumped! Dr. Meyer is the best eye doctor I have ever met, and over the years, I have dealt with a ton of them. His whole staff was incredible, so professional, and very friendly.
The surgery was a huge success. It was the first time I saw my alarm clock in 41 years. People that can see well may not think this is a big deal, but I can tell you I was so fired up to see 5:30 AM. I can’t wait to run my first marathon and race my first race without glasses. I can now see distances which I could never see before. I would do this again in a flash…It was worth every penny I paid for it. Dr. Meyer and his staff are the only people I would go to for the surgery. They kept me well informed and always treated me well. Most of them were as excited as I was about the surgery.
